The Battle of Stirling ended in victory for the Scots, and they exacted bloody revenge on the English. Cressingham, and arrogrant and militant priest who was the English Treasurer, was torn to pieces and skinned. It is said that Wallace made a belt from the skin. Braveheart is the character of William Wallace played by Mel Gibson in the movie Braveheart, 1995 .
